The Range of Possibilities for Intentions Undisclosed
When we don’t know what they want, what can we surmise?
Reed Summers sets the epistemological grounds of reference in an argument he makes on the platform known as X. He sketches out the spectrum of possibility for differeng levels of real, positive intention from aliens and really negative exploitation of humans by aliens. This is his map of the range of possibilities for aliens to really mean harm or good.
Study this sketch of possiblities and screen for what you wish would happen and what you would rather not. Reed uses statistic probability to weight the chances against the evidence (the clandestine aspect).
Another student of the New Message plots it out like this with his examples of the spectrum for realistic vs. fantasy-based thinking about negative outcomes:
“How do we discern a real fear from imaginary fear?
Two questions to ask:
– what’s the probability of the event happening?
– what’s the impact the event would have if it occurs?
There is a four cell chart one could draw, where the horizontal line is probability, and the vertical line being impact.
So we have.
A: High probability, low impact
Example: measles
B: High probability, high impact
Example: maybe a credit card default
C: Low probability, low impact
D: Low probability, high impact.
Example: alien abduction
An Earth we wish not to see is highly probable unless
If an Earth we wish not to see is among the more highly probably outcomes of allowing visitors who do not disclose their intentions, AND awareness of the greater and more dire possiblity can alter this outcome, let us use every resource to see what can only be seen if shown, rather than conjectured.
For best perspective
We can deploy our best thought processes and we can also save ourselves time when we can understand from the Allies of Humanity What They Want , and go deeper into What they want on the e.t.wiki.
